I purchased my domain names (I've got a personal one too), chose a host (I'm using <a href="http://www.bluehost.com" rel="nofollow">Blue Host</a> thanks to a Twitter recommendation) and BAM! From start to finish it took all of about 15 minutes. And what's really cool is I'm hosting two blogs on my one account. No need to get a second account for my second blog! C'mon. Do it!
